Why media is silent about Kashmir || Kashmir today 9th September 2019

In the Indian-administered Kashmir, where citizens are facing lockdown and various problems, the Indian government is also making no effort to shut down the Kashmiri media.
A report released this week said that the reporters were being monitored, they were being investigated informally and they were being harassed for publishing anti-government reports.
According to the news agency AFP, a report titled 'News Behind the barbed wire', the media in Kashmir is determined to maintain its existence and its condition is very thin.

The report also says that instead of making the topic of real news in Kashmir's major newspapers, the benefits of vitamin A and 'should you take caffeine in the summer' appear to be caught in the debate.
The report, prepared in view of the problems faced by the media in Kashmir, states that blasphemy on the media is promoting the 'official stance' while the truth is being suppressed which is primarily undemocratic and harmful. '
This report was published by 'Network of Women in Media' and 'India and Free Speech Collective', while the report was prepared by two Kashmiri journalists and for this they spoke to more than 70 journalists and local citizens. He also spoke to the local administration.

When contacted by AFP, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting declined to speak on the subject, saying they had not yet read the report.
The Indian government, on the other hand, says that the situation in Kashmir is normal and that changing Kashmir's special status will improve the economy and provide employment opportunities to the people.
However, ground facts defy India's claims because since August 5, at least 500 protests have been staged against Indian security forces, 4000 people have been arrested and five civilians have been killed.
