COVID Pakistan: Surgeries other than emergency, suspended in Sindh to save Oxygen

 









Sindh government spokesman Murtaza Wahab said that apart from life-saving and emergency operations, other surgeries and procedures have been suspended in public and private hospitals across the province.

According to Murtaza Wabab, this measure has been taken to save the oxygen supply. It should be noted that similar decisions have been taken by the Punjab government and the Islamabad administration before.










Sindh government spokesman Murtaza Wahab said the decision to ban elective surgery was taken to increase the number of Corona patients and ensure oxygen supply to the patients.

The ban was decided at a meeting of the provincial Corona Task Force chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Monday.

Dr. Abdul Bari, Head, Indus Hospital was also present in the meeting.

Speaking to Urdu News, Indus Hospital spokesman Fawad bin Rashid said that there was no emergency in the hospitals yet and the supply of oxygen was still normal.

He said that the decision has been taken as a precautionary measure.

Comparing the situation of hospitals during the Corona epidemic in the same month last year, he said that the capacity of hospitals in Sindh, especially in Karachi, has improved significantly in the last year due to which The situation is not the same as it was last year.
